I love you…what?
by Samantha
If you have visited my blog in the past few days, you probably noticed the domain name. First of all, can I just say how excited I am that I finally have a domain name? I’ve had a few people ask me what on earth the “twelve” part means. So here is the back story.
Four or five years ago, I was talking to my best friend, Bekah, online. Every time we would say goodbye, we would say “I love you”. It turned into one of us saying “ILY 1″ and “ILY2″. Simple enough, right? It’s nothing out of the ordinary.
At some point, there was a typo involved. From there it turned into us pretty much being lazy and just saying “ILY12″.
I love you twelve.
It just always stuck. We have said that to each other for as long as I can remember. Our conversations always end in it. Always. No matter what is going on.
Trying to think of a name for my blog was harder than I really expected it to be. Originally, it was for the story I was writing. But the more I write in here, the more I have found that it’s not only for my story. I love writing about whatever is on my mind. I love writing about God and what He is doing in my life. Jokingly, Bekah and I came up with iloveyoutwelve.com. The more I thought about it, the more I liked it.
Out of curiosity, Bekah and I began to look for meaning of the number twelve. There is a lot of symbolism in the number, but my favorite was this one: “Twelve is the number of what is completed, which forms a whole, a perfect and harmonious unit.” (http://www.ridingthebeast.com/numbers/nu12.php)
This entire time, Bekah and I have been saying ”I love you completely” to each other. It’s really cool. It means a lot to me. It explains our hearts and how much love we have been blessed with. I want to be able to continuing sharing the love inside of me with everyone that I know. It may seem kind of silly how it started…but…
I love you twelve.
